TreasurySpring has received approval to act as a super validator on the Canton Network.
Through a process known as the canton improvement proposal, TreasurySpring will record the ownership of a material and growing proportion of newly issued fixed-term fund shares (FTFs) on Canton鈥檚 distributed ledger technology.
Those on-ledger ownership entries, together with the associated off-ledger records identifying each approved holder, are intended to constitute the authoritative record of ownership.
FTFs are issued by TreasurySpring鈥檚 issuing vehicles, with each FTF linked to a single underlying cash-equivalent, high-grade fixed-income asset and a specified maturity date.
The first phase of the programme will upgrade TreasurySpring鈥檚 back-end infrastructure with 鈥渮ero impact鈥 on the client experience, the firm says.
Clients will continue using the platform alongside subscription and settlement processes, removing the need to operate a wallet or manage cryptographic keys, while the transfer agent will maintain its existing responsibilities and register administration.
Over time, eligible clients may choose to hold FTFs through approved third-party wallet infrastructure and, where permitted, initiate activity involving their holdings.
Potential use cases include intra-group transfers, borrowing, or repo against FTFs and collateral posting.
The initiative builds on TreasurySpring's participation in a Canton industry working group that completed the first cross-border intraday repo using tokenised UK gilts, in January 2026.
Matthew Longhurst, co-founder and chief innovation officer at TreasurySpring, says: 鈥淚nstitutions are looking for ways to mobilise high-quality financial assets more efficiently without compromising privacy, control, or legal certainty.
鈥淚ntegrating the core ownership component of the FTF register with Canton will establish a production model for sustained ledger activity while preserving the safeguards clients rely on today.
鈥淭his approval allows us to take the next practical step: representing ownership records arising from recurring FTF issuance on Canton and, over time, giving eligible clients the option to use approved wallet infrastructure as a controlled route to transfer, financing, and collateral use cases.鈥
Veronica Augustsson, partner at 7RIDGE, adds: 鈥淥ur involvement in Canton has shown us first-hand the potential of privacy-enabled shared infrastructure.
鈥淎s a TreasurySpring client, we already value the efficient access its platform provides to a broad range of high-quality cash investments for our private fund cash sleeves and for our portfolio companies.鈥
