OCC average daily loan value jumps 16.8% for September

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) has reported a 16.8 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in average daily loan value for securities lending trades, generating US$230.9 billion for September.
Total securities lending transactions cleared on the OCC platform for the same month decreased 1.43 per cent YoY to 337,652.
With regards to all futures and options cleared through the organisation, the total volume was up 6.1 per cent YoY to 1.49 billion contracts for September.
OCC also experienced a 37.9 per cent YoY jump in ETF options contracts for the month to 642 million, and saw a 21.9 per cent YoY rise in index options contracts to 137 million.
Equity options volumes fell 13.9 per cent YoY to 706.9 million for the month, while cleared futures contracts dropped 6.8 per cent YoY to 4 million.
