Chris Childs has departed the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) following a decision to take a temporary step away from the financial industry.
In an online statement, Childs states: 鈥淎fter six years at NatWest, 21 years at Citi, and 18 years at DTCC, it鈥檚 time to take a few months off and think about what comes next.鈥
Childs leaves his career as managing director, head of Repository & Derivatives
Services at DTCC, and CEO and President of DTCC Deriv/SERV.
In his most recent role, Childs was responsible for the firm鈥檚 Report Hub service, overseeing product strategy, client engagement, and day to day operations.
During his almost two decades with DTCC, Childs was also responsible for the development and daily operations of Deriv/SERV products, such as the Trade Information Warehouse and Global Trade Repository.
Prior to joining DTCC in 2007, Childs held several positions at Citi, including within the firm鈥檚 retail banking operations, internal audit, and investment banking operations both in North America and Europe.
From 2004 to 2007 Childs served as global processing head of capital markets operations.
Earlier in his career, Childs worked at Citigroup Audit and Risk Review (ARR) in various capacities, including European chief auditor and managing director of ARR Standards, Reporting and Systems.
Concluding his statement, Childs says: 鈥淢y next immediate challenge is walking the UK coast to coast across the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors.
鈥淎fter that? Who knows other than it will involve staying in touch with many of you wonderful folk and somehow, I don't think I'm done just yet!!鈥
