And the winner is鈥

Back for its fourth year, the Securities 麻豆影视传媒 Industry Excellence Awards showcased the industry鈥檚 leading firms and honoured participants鈥 dedication to the market

London welcomed the return of the Securities 麻豆影视传媒 Industry Excellence Awards on 10 July, rolling out the red carpet for the market鈥檚 respected individuals.

Taking place once again at Plaisterers鈥 Hall, the night awarded agent lenders, repo teams, technology firms, and collaborative efforts.

The evening heard from Jaco van Gass OBE, who joined the British Army at 20 years old, and went on to serve in the Parachute Regiment.

After sustaining life changing industries during his second tour of Afghanistan, van Gass underwent intense recovery before taking on a courageous trek to the North Pole and braved a number of the world鈥檚 highest mountains.

Following his inspirational speech, van Gass welcomed award winners to the stage in celebration of their efforts in the securities finance industry.

One of the night鈥檚 largest winners was State Street, who took home the top spot as Americas Lender of the Year, Americas Repo Team of the Year, and Client Services Team of the Year.

Representing the Middle East, SNB Capital was awarded New Securities 麻豆影视传媒 Team of the Year, while HSBC took home the trophy for Middle East Lender of the Year.

Curtis Dutton, global head of trading, agency securities lending and liquidity services at HSBC, says: 鈥淚t is a privilege to receive the Middle East Lender of the Year award, and to be seen as a leader for the region鈥檚 growing securities lending marketplace.

鈥淚t is testament to the hard work of the HSBC team and our continued focus on growth globally as well as in emerging markets.鈥

The evening also celebrated the National Bank of Canada as Operations Team of the Year and Technology-enhanced Trading Desk of the Year, while CACEIS celebrated its win for ESG Initiative of the Year.

MarketAxess and BlackRock were recognised for Best Partnership of the Year, with Pirum being awarded Post Trade Technology Provider of the Year.

J.P. Morgan took home two awards that evening, winning Asian Lender of the Year and Global Lender of the Year.

For the first time in the award鈥檚 history, London Reporting House was the chosen winner of the Innovation in Repo Analytics award.

Speaking on the achievement, Ben Corrigan, co-founder and chief operating officer at London Reporting House, comments: 鈥淭his recognition is a testament to the hard work of our team, the trust of our clients, and our relentless commitment to bringing clarity, precision, and intelligence to the global repo markets.

Moving on to the three key awards which celebrate individuals in the securities finance space, Securities 麻豆影视传媒 Times recognised Jordan Howie as this year鈥檚 Rising Star.

Howie is a remarkable young professional who exemplifies the future of the industry. In just two and a half years, he has transformed from newcomer to recognised talent, earning the nickname 鈥橶ordsmith鈥 for his meticulous attention to detail and communication skills.

As a buy side Trading Services sales associate, he has a fearless approach to innovation, bringing fresh perspectives to an industry traditionally dominated by senior professionals.

Howie states: 鈥淚 am humbled to receive the Rising Star award, a reflection of the amazing support from my J.P. Morgan team. I鈥檓 grateful for the chance to contribute to our success, to help drive innovation and growth in the securities finance industry, and to continue to set the standard for excellence.鈥

Sharegain鈥檚 Keren Halperin, deputy CEO, won the Industry Inspiration Award for representing the pinnacle of leadership and innovation in capital markets. With over two decades of experience spanning trading, regulation, and fintech, this visionary leader has consistently broken barriers and driven meaningful change throughout her career.

Halperin鈥檚 entrepreneurial spirit shone through founding a company that connected Israeli tech startups with European venture capital, creating vital networks across continents.

Beyond professional achievements, Halperin balances demanding leadership roles while being a devoted mother of two, exemplifying that excellence knows no boundaries.

Halperin comments: 鈥淣ow that the dust has settled a bit, and while I鈥檓 still blushing a week later 鈥 I just want to say thank you to the Securities 麻豆影视传媒 Times for such a special recognition.

鈥淚鈥檓 incredibly honoured to receive this award, especially at such a pivotal time for our industry. It鈥檚 not just a personal achievement, but a reflection of the brilliant team I鈥檓 lucky to work with every day. Their dedication, curiosity, and drive continue to inspire me.鈥

For the last award of the night, the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Guido Stroemer, co-founder and CEO at HQLAX. Stroemer was recognised as a true pioneer whose visionary leadership has fundamentally transformed the landscape of capital markets technology.

Over three decades, this individual has consistently pushed boundaries, beginning his illustrious career at Citi before advancing through prestigious roles at Tullett Prebon and ultimately becoming global head of repo trading at UBS, where he spent nearly two decades mastering the intricacies of institutional finance.

In 2017, he co-founded a fintech company that would revolutionise how institutions access and manage high-quality liquid assets. Through unwavering dedication to excellence and an uncompromising commitment to advancing the industry, Stroemer has earned the highest recognition that Securities 麻豆影视传媒 Times can bestow.

Celebrating his achievement, Stroemer says: 鈥淚 am honoured and humbled by this industry recognition. The securities finance and repo industry has always been very much of a people business, and so it gives me great pride to receive this prestigious award, not only as an industry practitioner, but also as a person.鈥
