Alistair joined ISLA in January 2024 as Director – Business Development.

Charlie Badran, Head of AXA Financing within the Trading, Securities Financing and derivatives department (TSF-D) has been for more than 18 years at BNPP Asset Management (ex AXA-IM). Charlie is in charge of the Repo and financing activity globally.

Prior to joining AXA IM, Charlie worked in London at Bloomberg as a trading system sales covering both France and the Middle East. Before that, he worked in a French investment bank as a Repo and Bond trader in Paris and Luxembourg.

Furthermore, Charlie Badran seats on the governing board of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) European Repo and Collateral Council (ERCC).

Charlie Badran holds a MSc in Mathematics from University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and a MSc in Science and management from NEOMA Business School.

Ruth has worked for MUFG Securities for nearly 13 years in Secured Financing (Repo and Stock Lending) in both trading and sales roles. In November 2024, she relocated to Hong Kong to build out the Repo and SBL business in the APAC region.

Ruth works across the international Securities entities, coordinating with affiliates like MUBK, MUTB and most significantly MUMSS, where she is working with the onshore management to set up a non-JGB Repo desk in Tokyo. In addition to the internal MUFG committees, advisory and project groups, Ruth is involved in a number of external Industry Working Groups - she is a board advisor for PASLA (Pan Asia Stock Lending Association), a committee member of the ICMA (International Capital Markets Association) future leaders group, a senior participant in the external ‘Women in Securities Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ´«Ã½â€™ and ‘100 Women in Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ´«Ã½â€™, part of the ICMA Bond Market Liquidity Group, the LCH Collateral Advisory Group, the ISLA T+1 accelerated settlement taskforce as well as being a freeman of the City of London as a member of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.

She regularly gets invited to speak at conferences, participate in panels and contribute to industry articles

Now, he’s taking the reins as Head of Business Growth at SFTR data specialist London Reporting House, where he’ll drive an ambitious growth strategy across global markets.

A familiar face—and voice—on the international conference circuit, Gabriele is known for his no-nonsense insights and sharp moderation, regularly taking the stage as expert speaker, panel chair or moderator at major industry events worldwide.

Alistair leads on strengthening relationships with ISLA’s current member firms, identifying growth opportunities across the securities finance landscape, and developing services and strategic partnerships that enhance ISLA’s memberships offer.

Alistair brings extensive experience of securities lending from both a buy and sell side perspective. Before joining ISLA, Alistair was Director of EMEA Sales at Baton where he was responsible for growing Baton’s solutions in the region. Prior to Baton, Alistair built experience across financial services, working at some of the largest and most respected institutions in the world including Bank of New York Mellon, BlackRock, and UBS.
