OCC average daily loan value rises 8.8% YoY for September

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) has reported an 8.8 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase in average daily loan value for securities lending trades, generating US$197.6 billion for September.
Total securities lending transactions cleared on the OCC platform for the same month increased 38.9 per cent YoY to 342,550.
In terms of all futures and options cleared through the organisation, the total volume was up 45.1 per cent YoY to 1.4 billion contracts for September.
OCC also experienced a 66.9 per cent YoY increase in equity options contracts for the month to 821.5 million, and a 34.5 per cent YoY rise in index options contracts to 112.4 million.
ETF options volumes increased 20.4 per cent YoY to 465.7 million for the month.
However, cleared futures contracts declined by 6.6 per cent YoY to 4.3 million.
