LCH SA has announced it will extend the range of eligible collateral used to meet margin requirements across the firm’s services.
The move comes as the firm looks to enhance its collateral framework to better support members’ liquidity and funding needs.
According to LCH SA, the extension includes a significant expansion of USD-denominated collateral that may be posted to cover margin requirements.
In parallel, the firm is also extending triparty collateral capabilities with Euroclear Bank, enabling members to mobilise US and UK government securities in local currency, alongside French CADES — the French state agency.
This brings triparty collateral eligibility closer to the existing bilateral scope, says LCH SA.
Together, these enhancements aim to provide greater flexibility in collateral sourcing and optimisation, while improving operational efficiency, supporting cross-currency funding strategies, and responding to the evolving needs of LCH SA clearing members.
