TMX Group has completed the acquisition of Middlebury Holdings (Cboe Australia) from Cboe Global Markets.

According to the firm, the transaction aims to bolster TMX Group's ability to serve clients across the capital markets ecosystem, expand the company's global presence, and accelerate the company's growth strategy.

The acquisition of Cboe Australia will bring together mining and energy transition financing ecosystems, unlocking potential to innovate for a growing global client base, says TMX Group.

Cboe Australia, which will be rebranded as TMX Australia Exchange, is a securities exchange offering companies tailored support for public market listings, including exchange traded funds, as well as structured products and warrants.

It also provides a trading venue for brokers and investors with access to local and global investment opportunities, and has recently been granted a license for corporate listings.

The acquisition was previously announced in April.
