ABN Amro Clearing Bank (AACB) has launched its standardised repo clearing access service.
The service establishes an entry point to the cleared repo market, aiming to increase access for a wider range of financial institutions by reducing operational complexities and technical barriers.
By collaborating with Eurex and Clearstream, the bank provides an infrastructure designed to help financial institutions manage liquidity, borrow cash, and lend cash.
AACB acts as a new gateway to provide direct access to the cleared repo market, managing the trading, clearing, and settlement processes through a single integrated service.
The operational framework removes the requirement for market participants to hold direct clearing membership or sponsored access, which reduces administrative procedures and onboarding timelines.
Additionally, the solution targets both European and international financial institutions requiring access to euro-donominated cleared repo liquidity.
Within this framework, Eurex serves as the central counterparty to mitigate risk, while Clearstream acts as the central securities depository to handle settlement.
AACB provides financial institutions with direct access to Eurex鈥檚 large and liquid cleared repo market through a single integrated service covering trading, clearing, and settlement.
The bank confirmed that the service will support the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in developing its European market capabilities.
Wilco Hendriks, CEO of CBA (Europe), says: 鈥淐onnecting CBA (Europe) to Eurex through ABN AMRO Clearing Bank strengthens our ability to support clients participating in European markets, while expanding access to liquidity and market opportunities across the region.鈥
Alexander Jacobs, head of OTC at AABC, adds: 鈥淏y making repo clearing available as a standardised service, we are lowering barriers to access secured liquidity and advanced collateral management, helping clients structure their balance sheets more efficiently.
鈥淎t the same time, this launch reflects our ambition to broaden access to cleared markets and further strengthen ABN AMRO Clearing's position as a leading global clearing provider.鈥
